Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about permanent makeup – from preparation to healing.
How long does permanent makeup last?
It depends on the technique, your skin type and aftercare. Microblading is best refreshed every 8–12 months to keep the colour fresh. If you decide not to maintain it, the pigment fades completely within one and a half to two years.
Does the treatment hurt?
We use a topical anaesthetic gel, so the treatment is comfortable. Slight redness is possible; for most clients it disappears within about 30 minutes after the treatment.
Is the touch-up included in the price?
For brows (microblading, hair strokes, powder, ombré and solid effect) and for areolas, the touch-up is included in the price. It is done no earlier than one month and no later than three months after the first treatment.
How are the shape and colour chosen?
A preliminary design is drawn to suit the shape of your face, your muscles and your bone structure. The colour is matched to your natural hair and skin tone – for brows alone we have around 30 shades of brown.
Are the consumables safe?
The needles are sterile, opened in front of you and disposed of after the treatment. New needles are opened for the touch-up – again in front of you.
How should I prepare for the treatment?
You will find a detailed list in the article Preparing for permanent makeup. If you have had cold sores in the past, a consultation is needed before a lip treatment – see Cold sores and permanent lip makeup.
How long does healing take?
For lips, the skin surface heals in about 7–10 days and the pigment settles within about a month. More about brows: Powder brow healing – day by day.
Are there any contraindications?
Yes – in some situations the treatment has to be postponed. See Contraindications for permanent makeup or ask us when you book.
