Common mistakes when shaping your brows at home
Author: Tsvety Bita, permanent makeup specialist

Brows… They are one of the first things I notice on the face of someone I meet, and I imagine you do too. Although in my case it is probably because of my professional eye. For those of you who do not know me, I am Tsvety Bita, a permanent makeup master, trainer and owner of the BIOTEK Bulgaria permanent makeup academy.
Over the years of my career I have met a great many clients with different brows – different hair structure, colour, density and so on. In general, we are all different, and each of us is unique and inspiring in her own way. But when we stand in front of the mirror, it is as if each of us forgets that inspiration the moment she picks up the tweezers. You know exactly what I mean, right? “Just this one hair, and this one…”
Here is the first mistake we make while holding the tweezers.
Over the years it seems to have stuck in our minds that our brows must not meet, and somehow, without meaning to, while thinking “they are too close together, too close together”, we suddenly realise we have pulled them too far apart. Spacing the brows too widely can create the illusion that your eyes are too far apart, and the brows have no start, only an end. You get an unfinished “picture”, but by the time you look at yourself with the tweezers in your hand, it is already too late. Of course, there is a solution to this “problem” too – microblading. But the idea is to know when to put the tweezers down, rather than relying on semi-permanent makeup to fix the result of shaping your brows at home.

Where should our brows start? Find the midpoint at the base of your nose (the area between the eyes); usually the distance from this point to your brow should be between 1 cm and 1.2 cm. You can see this in the next picture, which I have drawn by hand to make it clearer.

I hope this first part will help many of you with shaping your brows at home. Look out for the next part.
This is how your brows should look.
