What to expect after microblading

An aftercare guide
We all know that home care is extremely important for a good healed result, so you should follow your microblading expert's instructions carefully and strictly. During the first 14 days your brows will change every day, so let me explain the healing process day by day so you know what to expect. The whole microblading healing process takes 6–8 weeks, depending on how quickly your skin renews. It can easily be divided into 6 stages:
- Days 1–4 – right after the treatment you may have slight swelling and redness in the treated area. After 24 hours your brows look darker because the scabs are forming. They are as thin as the drawn hair strokes, so they are extremely fine.
- Days 5–7 – your brows start to peel and the scabs fall off.
- Days 8–10 – your brows look about 50% lighter than what you were used to in the first days after the treatment. The lightening may seem too much and you may think “there is nothing left of the colour”, but that is not the case. Be patient!
- Days 14–28 – the colour starts to reappear on the surface of the skin and your brows gradually begin to look sufficiently saturated.
- Days 42–60 – the best time for the touch-up, which is included in the initial treatment.
- One week after the touch-up your brows are fully healed and you have the final result.

It is extremely important to know that different skin types heal differently, so for some the healing process can be very short, while for others it takes longer.

As I mentioned above, home care is extremely important. That is why I am giving you some guidelines for a good healed result and to avoid infection of the area.
- Do not get the area wet for the first 24 hours after the treatment.
- Avoid exercise and heavy sweating for the first 48 hours.
- Do not remove the scabs by force – they will fall off when they are ready.
- Do not apply makeup over them for the first 7–10 days.
- Avoid sunbeds, saunas, steam baths and swimming pools for the first 10 days.
- Apply the aftercare product the way your expert has instructed.
- Use SPF not only during the healing period but also afterwards. This way you will keep the pigment for longer.
